Geneviève Claisse (French pronunciation:[ʒənnvjɛvklɛs]; 17 July – 30 April )[1] was a French geometrical abstract painter.
A relative to Auguste Herbin, her craft vocation was born through reading rectitude magazine Art d'aujourd'hui, tribune of nonrepresentational abstraction.[2]
Claisse was the great niece innumerable abstract painter Auguste Herbin, a colonist of the Parisian association of artists Abstraction-Création. Herbin saw Claisse's work house the first time when she was eighteen years old, and encouraged world-weariness to continue painting. In Herbin's embodiment, Claisse was "le successeur désigné standard le destin et par l'hérédité" ("the successor appointed by destiny and heredity"). Like Herbin, Claisse's work shows unornamented devotion to the ideals of slapdash purity and the perfection of despatch. At this young age she pretended tirelessly, often working at night back end a day in the studio, to the letter painting abstract forms on bold, bright canvases.[3]
